July 30, 2023Women in EM 2023 meeting
September 7, 2023Medical jeopardy game, “Stabbing” joint EM-Trauma conference, Journal club – all educational and fun activities at our Wednesday resident conference
Medical education should be fun! And here at Crozer we live up to that expectation. While clinical shifts are always full of memorable moments, the didactic portion of the residency is also full of excitement and fun activities.
First, our senior resident Dr. Dan Kallush, instead of usual review of Rosen’s chapters on Biliary/Liver/GI infections created a whole Who-wants-to-be-a-millionnaire style game with challenging questions. The residents and faculty were divided into two competing teams. The winning team got a few boxes of cookies as a reward.
Then we had our monthly joint EM-Trauma conference. The theme of the day was stabbing/penetrating wounds. Two cases were presented by EM resident Dr. Kenna Lum and by Surgery resident Dr. Da’keesha Jones. The cases gave us an opportunity to go over anatomy of different regions of the body from the standpoint of penetrating injury as well as review indications and contraindications for thoracotomy, etc.
At the end of the conference we had a Journal Club led by our residents.
We love you, seniors!
