New academic year has officially started!
July 7, 2021A Case of AICD Shock in Ventricular Tachycardia Following Opioid Use
July 10, 2021In place of our usual journal club we had an incredibly important discussion about resilience.
Resilience is the ability to mentally/emotionally/physicially cope with a crisis or to return to pre-crisis status quickly. In our unprecedented times the residents face not only expected challenges of residency training, but adversities on a far larger scale (pandemic, economical downturn, social problems, etc). The discussion panel consisted of several EM physicians who faced challenges before, during, or after residency and offered their unique perspective on what it means to be resilient. The residents had an opportunity to share their stories as well. Multiple messages were voiced over the course of the discussion, such as it’s ok to not to be ok, roadblocks happen to everyone, having a support system is important, perspective is a key.
After this discussions, we all emerged knowing each other better, having more tools under the belt on how to deal with adversity, and more aware of the need to be attentive to each other.
Thank you all for your participation and hearing your stories!
